Huron Valley Hand Surgery
Our Training and Preparation
The physicians at Huron Valley Hand Surgery are orthopedic surgeons who are specialists in the management of hand and upper extremity problems, and complex wound problems of both the upper and lower extremities.

We are dedicated to offering you the most comprehensive service available. In addition to a one-year period of study in the subspecialty area of hand and microvascular surgery, we have the experience and expertise necessary to provide a complete service.
Our Evaluation and Treatment Program
Evaluation of hand or wound problems is frequently done at the request of your physician. This may be in the form of a second opinion or as a temporary transfer of care.
Treatment may include custom splinting and casting, occupational therapy, activity modification, medications, diagnostic studies, or a surgical procedure.

Once the evaluation and/or treatment is completed, subsequent care is continued by your orthopedic surgeon or referring physician.
How Therapy can Help You
Sometimes with therapy alone we can provide the assistance you need to restore full use of your hands. Modern therapy techniques may involve joint mobilization, range of motion, strengthening, and such methods or modalities as fluidotheraphy, ultrasound, cryotemp, edema control, electrical stimulation, continuous passive motion, and whirlpool.
If you need Hand and Microvascular Surgery
If a hand problem cannot be treated with such non-invasive techniques as exercise, splinting, or therapy, we may recommend surgery.

The surgical prodecure may involve the use of a high-powered microscope, which enables the surgeon to repair the most delicate nerves and arteries in the hand.
The arthroscope is another surgical device which allows for more precise diagnosis and treatment of many hand problems. It may eliminate the need for more involved surgery, and help to minimize the recovery time.
Comprehensive team management - which includes your physician, surgeon, and therapist - often results in improved feeling and function.

Ask your doctor about us
If you have need for a subspecialist in hand and microvascular surgery, ask your personal physician for a referral. If you don't have a doctor, you may call us directly for an appointment. We ask that new patients bring any pertinent medical records and x-rays to their first appointment.
Why you may need our Specialized Care
Both the evaluation and the treatment of hand problems have become increasingly complex functions. Evaluation frequently requires an expert second opinion, and treatment might include such highly sophisticated procedures as micro-surgery, joint replacement, and arthroscopic surgery.
